Jason Hummel

The man, the myth, the legend, Jason Hummel is an adventure photographer, modern-day explorer, and published author. Jason’s stories of growing up a wild child in the small town of Morton, Washington have a “walking uphill in snow, both ways!” kind of vibe: learning to ski in the backcountry on a telemark setup, circumnavigating Glacier Peak on foot at the age of 13, and following his dad and brothers on many a misadventure. After years of working as a financial advisor, Jason pulled the plug on “normal life” in 2009 and has been working as a professional photographer ever since. He’s a regular contributor to publications like Powder, Ski Mag, and Backcountry Magazine and brands like Washington Tourism, Marmot, Osprey, and more. Even more impressive are Jason’s accomplishments on skis: He’s logged over 80 first descents and traverses in the Northwest and is currently in the midst of a decades-long mission to document, photograph, and ski all 293 named Glaciers in Washington State.
