The first best-of-three of the 2023 season of the LEC delivered an exciting series, meeting fans’ expectations of the new format for the group stage of the European League of Legends competition. The series between Team Vitality and Team Heretics gave the viewers all they could hope for from a best-of-three match that went all the way, with both teams showcasing growth within the series.
As Vitality placed first in the regular season nkings, they had the right to choose their opponents for the first round of the group stage. They chose Team Heretics over KOI and SK Gaming. Ultimately it was Team Vitality who came out on top in what was the first Bo3 in the region since 2017, but Team Heretics delivered a clean performance that showcased the team’s ability to adapt to their opponents’ style.
